Hanoverton is a village located in Columbiana County, in the state of Ohio, in the United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 408. Hanoverton is part of the larger Salem, OH Micropolitan Statistical Area.
The village was founded in 1804 and named after Hanover, Germany. Throughout its history, Hanoverton has been a center for agriculture and trade. Today, it is a small, quiet community with a number of historically significant buildings, including the historic Hanoverton Canal Terminal.
The village is home to several annual events, including the Hanoverton Car Show, held each June, and the Hanoverton Homecoming Festival, held each August. The Hanoverton Christmas Parade is also a beloved local tradition.
Hanoverton is located near several outdoor recreation areas, including Guilford Lake State Park and the Little Beaver Creek Wild and Scenic River. It is also within driving distance of major cities like Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
